Privacy Policy

DOM Inspector Plus — Effective March 19, 2026

Overview

DOM Inspector Plus is a browser extension that extracts UI component styles and structure from web pages. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the extension accesses and how it is handled.

Data Collection

DOM Inspector Plus does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Specifically:

• No personal information is collected (name, email, IP address, etc.)
• No browsing history is tracked or recorded
• No analytics or telemetry data is sent to any server
• No cookies are set by the extension
• No data is shared with third parties

Data Processed Locally

The extension processes the following data entirely on your device (locally in your browser):

• DOM structure — HTML elements and their attributes on the active tab when you invoke the inspector
• Computed styles — CSS properties of selected elements
• Inspection history — Past extractions stored in Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local), which never leaves your device

All processing happens client-side. No data is sent to any external server.

Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions:

• activeTab — To inspect the DOM of the current tab when activated by the user
• storage — To save inspection history and user preferences locally
• sidePanel — To display the extraction results in Chrome's side panel
• offscreen — To handle clipboard operations
• clipboardWrite — To copy extracted prompts to the clipboard

Third-Party Services

When you use the one-click export buttons (Claude, v0, Cursor), the extension copies content to your clipboard or opens the respective website in a new tab. No data is automatically transmitted — you choose when and where to paste.

Data Retention

Inspection history is stored locally using Chrome's storage API. You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension data in Chrome settings.

Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
